35 Br Bromine

Halogen, nonmetal, mass: 79.904 u, 2 stable isotopes (79, 81), abundance rank (earth/space): 43/36

Click image to magnify. Pure liquid bromine, three different photos of the same vial. Original size in cm: 1 x 4
Bromine Bromine upside down
Bromine is very corrosive and its compounds are toxic, they are widely used in flame retardants. Bromine is quite abundant in sea water, some marine organisms need bromides to life. Bromine and mercury are the only elements that are liquid at standard conditions.

Bromine thinner layer
Here the bromine layer on the inner surface of the vial is thinner.
